1.7/40 MERAKLON SL W

A new fibre for spunlace application has been set-up, to be used mostly in the baby wipes sector.

The 1.7/40 MERAKLON SL W fibre have a 1,7 dtex title and it was developed in order to improve the musking effect and to diminish the viscose percentage on the final non-woven, thanks to a greater hydrophilic property in the fibre.

The baby wipes standard composition require a viscose fibre amount of 40%. Using the 1.7/40 MERAKLON SL W fibre, it is possible to reduce the viscose fibre percentage until a level of 20%, keeping the same enlarge properties of perfumed lotion retaining.

The objective of composition optimisation versus an higher polyolefin fibre content, allow a substantial final product cost reduction.

This new fiber enlarges Meraklon products family for spunlace application.
