| Meraklon is the commercial name of fiber developed thanks to the isotactic polypropylene discovery, in 1954, from Prof Giulio Natta who was awarded the Nobel Prize for the Chemistry for this discovery in 1963. Research in the field of polyolefin resin has been a real scientific revolution in the polymer sector developing new process technologies, new fibers for the market and new applications. Meraklon appeared in the synthetic fiber world market in 1960 and was the first of all polyolefin fibers developed. Today the name Meraklon not only stands for the yarn and staple fiber produced, but also for the company who manufactures it. Meraklon means Advanced Research, New Product Development and Customer Services. |
